A new version, 1.0.6, was released on July 16th, and should address this issue.

After you install the 1.0.6 update, if the app is still not recognizing your subscription, then please tap "Restore Previous Purchase" from either the pop-up Subscription screen.  If this does not pop-up automatically, then please tap the Subscribe icon at the bottom of the main screen in the app.
